Prime & Provisions

Three cherries.  Instant five stars.

Prime and Provisions (which I will affectionately refer to as PP moving forward) was recommended to use from a friend, Nick J. PP didn’t disappoint (I will now go back to the long form name). The curated cocktail menu was impressive. Prime’s Old Fashioned was created with Old Forrester 100 proof Bourbon and (most importantly, in Mason’s opinion) cherries!
I call this a Thanksgiving Day drink due to the high alcohol content. ‘So strong. So smooth.’ are the only notes I made on the subject but you didn’t come here to hear me wax poetic, did you? I can only elaborate by saying Mason and I had no problem “nibbling” down three glasses that night.
As tradition allowed we jumped to a rye version next. I don’t know whose idea it was to grab a third but a four-star rating had to be substantiated. Great place to bring your corporate credit card or a relationship that has passed the six month mark 😉

For a place I passed everyday, I really had never noticed Prime and Provisions.  One of KB’s friends recommended the place; so, we decided to give it a shot.  I quickly found a spot at the dimly lit bar located near the entrance.  That plus the booths, barstools, easy listening music, and the smell of booze in the air created what could have been a great atmosphere – I say great because some of the clientele were a bit on the Randy from Step Brothers side (arrogant, egotistical, and the f***ing Catalina Wine Mixer).  However, clientele aside, it could totally be my scene; I might even bring a date there.  PLUS, there was Gladiator music playing in the bathroom.  (What?  Are we sword fighting in here?)
I ordered two of their house Old Fashioneds.  Just by looking at the drink before me, I could tell it was going to be great.  Three cherries, a square cube of ice, a great auburn color, and a little nibble.. It’s obvious a mixologist curated this drink.. Kudos.  Even though the house curated Old Fashioned was strong and tasty, we decided to end the night with an rye Old Fashioned.  Both were good, but I will say it’s better with rye.. Maybe I’m biased or maybe I was drunk; either way, you’re sure to enjoy a stiff drink here!
